Day 1

Amaya

Amaya sat on the edge her new red couch. Looking around the huge apartment full of modern appliances she'd plotted and planned to move into for the last two months...if she had to. Unfortunately the day she'd been avoiding had arrived. Amaya had to go. This is what you needed to do! Amaya said to herself giving her mind and spirit a much needed pep talk. Even though right now, at this very moment she felt like she was teetering on the ledge of a high rise building and about to fall off. I can't believe when I go to sleep Quincy wont be laying next to me. Quincy is not this bad all the time. Amaya thought. Momentary doubt clouding her mind. Maybe I need to give him time to do the right thing, not just leave him. Are you supposed to walk out on the man you love?

Even if he has hurt you and you feel like your heart is breaking into a million irreparable pieces.

Then again... Quincy was never home lately. There was always a meeting,briefs that needed to be read and of course he needed all his law books...that were in his office. Not to mention the "client" dinners that all of a sudden would be inappropriate for her to attend. Amaya quickly reminded herself of what she knew were excuses and lies. The flash of anger she felt recalling those huge details gave her an immediate feeling of strength and resolve . It's well past time I started caring for my damn self Amaya thought. Amaya's mind ran over the old cliche' " A man will only treat you as bad as you allow him." Looking around the new place she would temporarily call home, Amaya rose from the couch to start putting her belongings away.

I needed to make this change. That part of my relationship with Quincy will be the only time I love him more than I love myself,Amaya told herself walking into the kitchen to set up her new home.
